#Teargas / #Pepperspray protocol TL;DR version →
whitedork: “50% liquid antacid 50% water (LAW). Use a spray bottle and apply liberally to the open eyes, nose, and mouth of anyone affected by teargas/pepperspray. Rinse the mouth and spit, DO NOT SWALLOW. From personal experience I’d recommend following the maalox/water spray with a dose of chewable antacid. Any form of fully sealed goggles, including swim goggles, will protect your eyes....

anonymissexpress: Nov 23rd 2011, 13:26 by C.O. | LONDON ONE can almost hear the gates clanging: one after the other the sources of funding for Europe’s banks are being shut. It is a result of the highly visible run on Europe’s government bond markets, which today reached the heart of the euro zone: an auction of new German bonds failed to generate enough demand for the full amount, causing a...

What price the new democracy? Goldman Sachs... →
The ascension of Mario Monti to the Italian prime ministership is remarkable for more reasons than it is possible to count. By replacing the scandal-surfing Silvio Berlusconi, Italy has dislodged the undislodgeable. By imposing rule by unelected technocrats, it has suspended the normal rules of democracy, and maybe democracy itself. And by putting a senior adviser at Goldman Sachs in...

It’s hard to imagine how little we’d know without the Internet to allow free access to information. It’s also clear from a long history of DeClassified documents that what is most secret is crimes by those in High Office.  Operation Blacklist was also added as a seed but with Youtube as a primary target and links to this video behaving badly all day, I wanted to make sure...

[…] But most of the 7 billion are not endangering the earth. The majority of the world’s people don’t destroy forests, don’t wipe out endangered species, don’t pollute rivers and oceans, and emit essentially no greenhouse gases. Even in the rich countries of the Global North, most environmental destruction is caused not by individuals or households, but by mines, factories, and power...

anonymissexpress: By Jonathan Larsen and Ken Olshansky, MSNBC TV A well-known Washington lobbying firm with links to the financial industry has proposed an $850,000 plan to take on Occupy Wall Street and politicians who might express sympathy for the protests, according to a memo obtained by the MSNBC program “Up w/ Chris Hayes.” The proposal was written on the letterhead of the lobbying...

Eve Ensler: Over It #openough →
anonymissexpress: I am over being polite about rape. It’s been too long now, we have been too understanding. We need to OCCUPYRAPE in every school, park, radio, TV station, household, office, factory, refugee camp, military base, back room, night club, alleyway, courtroom, UN office. We need people to truly try and imagine — once and for all — what it feels like to have your body invaded,...

girtabaix: The European Parliament has adopted a resolution which criticizes domain name seizures of “infringing” websites by US authorities. How to Keep Fracking Out of Our Drinking Water: An... →
Brian Merchant, November 18, 2011 Earlier this week, I sat down with Josh Fox, the director of the Academy Award nominated documentary Gasland. The issue at hand was the Delaware River Basin Commission’s decision on whether or not to allow fracking in the region — and thus putting 15.6 million citizens’ drinking water at risk. I reported on that plan, with Fox’s...

Bike Swarm! It's the Occupy Movement's New Tool →
Leave it to Portland. If, as Alexis Madrigal writes in the Atlantic, that the Occupy Wall Street protest in New York is best seen as an API (application programming interface) for a global movement, Portland has added a typically Portlandia twist to its Occupy activities. As police began to move in to evict Portland’s encampment early Sunday morning, November 13, a swarm of bicycles...
